The Band
Since their inception in 1997, Train 45 has gained a loyal following with their unique blend of bluegrass, blues, jazz, and rock. Working primarily as an acoustic power trio, the group features the virtuosic mandolin stylings of Marc Roy, tasteful finger-style and flat-picked guitar from Greg Cox, and deep funk and soul bass courtesy of "Uncle" Josh Zalev.

The band has worked numerous theatre and club engagements and has also become popular on the festival circuit, performing at the Detroit 300 Festival, the Windsor/Detroit Freedom Festival, and Festival Epicure. Train 45 has also appeared on City TV's Breakfast Television, and performs regularly in and around southwestern Ontario.
The music of Train 45 is steeped in the sounds of traditional American music. Strains of hillbilly, country, Appalachian folk, piedmont, or even delta blues are just a few of the styles found in the group's quarry. Progressive/experimental sounds also figure into the mix, aligning the group with the contemporary 'new acoustic' movement. Any given performance can evidence a wide berth of stylistic influences.
